hand building

So I have been out and about this week and I was struck by this small but lovely exhibition at Meulensteen in Chelsea.  30 or so models, drawings and renderings to illustration the design development of Steven Holl‘s current Virginia Commonwealth University building. The combination of watercolor sketches, cardboard models and 3-d printer variations is so compelling and really speaks about the fact that the hand is still a vital tool in the world of design.
