Through Surface Design Association I came across artist Florentijn Hofman (Netherlands).  I’m a big fan of anything big. His very large scale pieces are placed in urban spaces for maximum surprise.  I like them all – but I think Fat Monkey (São Paulo, 2010), a huge monkey tied together from
10,000 brightly colored flip-flops (Brazilian shoe of choice), looks so relaxed (or has he fallen down?) – and beautiful.
