This past winter I have been thinking a lot about an article I read about Hermes initiative to make art objects out of the remaining materials from their traditional product. Their creative director Pascale Mussard says in a Surface magazine article, “If you know how to repair something,you know how to make it. If you repair it,it’s because you want to keep it.” I recently have had a number of shoes, bags and belts save and reworked by my brilliant south Brooklyn cobbler.
