the young building
September 26, 2011
Mississippi has deeply felt the loss of brilliant artist Gwendolyn Magee. As a small homage to her, professor Jassen Callendar at MSU fifth year has orchestrated a project that will garner some fascinating results. Students are using quilting methods to analyzed prospective building sites in Jackson. For me this adds to the argument that soft structures are on the rise and the use of textile techniques will become more and more apparent in the building industry and architectural thinking.
