thought building

Something has been bothering me since I posted about Li Edelkoort. Usually I am so in awe of her thinking and how progressive it is but this lastest exhibition just bothered me. I realized the goal-of exhibiting people who work within a materials and methods approach made for a particular “look” that I have studied before. The work of Eva Hesse is a strong statement in reaction to the design world, anti- foam, lack of longevity in materials, work for work stake-not for fame. Read this wonderfully insightful review by Arthur Danto to maybe fill in Edelkoort’s assumptions.
